Miondo
Miondo (also known as a cassava stick, and closely related to bobolo) is a traditional Cameroonian/Central African staple made from fermented cassava. It’s typically wrapped in banana or plantain leaves and cooked into long sticks with a soft, chewy texture and a lightly tangy fermented flavor that pairs beautifully with bold sauces.
Miondo is commonly served alongside grilled fish, meats, stews, and rich pepper sauces—many people enjoy it as a satisfying “swallow” or even as a bread substitute with African meals. Depending on how it’s prepared and sold, it may be offered as frozen and labeled as 100% cassava / gluten-free / no additives (always confirm your pack label for exact claims).
